Wakra, Qatar – 12 December 2016: Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) has kicked-off the first in a series of targeted school visits, aimed at inspiring and motivating students into the fields of science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM). They recently visited Al Wakra Secondary School for Boys.
During the series – which forms an integral part of QAPCO’s social responsibility program and Qatarization Strategy – QAPCO’s male and female engineers and scientists will visit various schools in the south of Qatar, sharing their own personal experiences to demonstrate the many and varied careers paths and possibilities that exist.
In addition, they are also informing their captive audience about how to responsibly care for the environment by encouraging them to deploy the 4Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle and recover.
This latest initiative is one of many that QAPCO has with the education sector in Qatar. In fact, QAPCO has some 16 partnerships with local schools and universities, and strongly advocates collaboration between industry and academia.
