Doha, Qatar – 28 February 2018: For the sixth year in a row QAPCO is pleased to kick off the Waste Free Environment (WFE) campaign 2018 in collaboration with Muntajat and Q-Chem.
The WFE campaign is an environmental awareness and anti-litter campaign initiated by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA). The annual campaign aims to tackle some of the challenges associated with plastic litter.
The campaign started with several awareness activities with schools, colleges and universities. Schools and universities were visited by our ambassadors to deliver an awareness-raising presentation aimed to introduce the importance of protecting the environment and how to preserve it.
The local community, downstream industries, schools and universities in Qatar united at Al-Wakra Beach to conclude the regional WFE campaign with beach clean-up.
For the first time this year we had the STEM Road show on the beach, enriching and educating students about the importance of recycling and how plastics is “in just about everything”.
