Doha, Qatar – 9 October 2012: At a recent event hosted by Qatar University, QAPCO received a special award from the President of Qatar University, Professor Shaikha Al Mesnad. This award was to express the University’s gratitude to QAPCO for all the support provided to the students who attended the QAPCO Summer Internship Training Program 2012. The Internship program had a good impact on the student’s performance and allowed them to get hands on work experience and implement what they have learnt at the college.
Mr. Nasser Al Hajri, Human Resource & Learning Manager at QAPCO was delighted to attend this ceremony on behalf of QAPCO stating “QAPCO and Qatar University have, over many years of collaboration, created a truly wonderful partnership. This partnership has seen numerous projects successfully undertaken and implemented and demonstrates that Industry and Academia can work together for the benefit of all; especially the students of this fine institution.
For example, we have in recent months we have worked together on the Life is Engineering project and further collaboration between QAPCO and QU in the field of Research & Development. This summer also saw over 35 students from QU and 5 International students complete an intensive Internship training program at our modern Petrochemical plant in Umm Said. All these projects are adding value to the education of the students here who I hope will one day complete their studies and join our Industry.”
On a personal note I would like to especially thank all the Department training specialists and Managers in QAPCO as without their help and support the QAPCO Summer Internship program would not be so successful. I would also like to thank Dr. Mazen and his team at the College of Engineering for all their support and commitment – we are in fact more than partners but true friends”
