Education Above All signs partnership agreement with QAPCO

Doha, Qatar – 15 October 2014: Education Above All Foundation (EAA) and Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) have today signed a partnership agreement at an event taking place at QAPCO’s headquarters in Doha, Qatar. QAPCO joins the international partners and donors who support EAA’s educational programmes worldwide, which include Educate A Child, Al Fakhoora and the Protecting Education in Insecurity and Conflict (PEIC) programme.

Commenting on the partnership with QAPCO, Fahad Al Sulaiti, Director of Finance and Administration at EAA, said: “We are delighted to welcome QAPCO as resource partner, and we are grateful for the commitment which has been made. The support of Qatari organisations such as QAPCO are crucial to the success of EAA’s mission to bring new life chances and real hope and opportunities to poor and marginalised children and youth around the world. In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, EAA aims to contribute to human, social and economic development through quality education and other welfare programmes and initiatives.”

Education Above All (EAA) is a global initiative founded in 2012 by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar. EAA’s aim is to build a global movement that contributes to human, social and economic development through quality education and other welfare programmes and initiatives. With a particular focus on areas affected by poverty, conflict and disaster, EAA champions the needs of children and youth and empower them to be active members of their communities. By meeting the demand for education, EAA equips them to support sustainable development and to nurture environments of peace, security, justice and prosperity. EAA is the umbrella organisation overseeing three core programmes, EAC, Al Fakhoora and PEIC.

Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) Q.S.C. is a Qatar-based company established in 1974 and is a joint venture between Industries Qatar (80%) and Total Petrochemicals (20%). As the pioneer of petrochemical production in Middle East, QAPCO is one of the largest producers of low density polyethylene (LDPE) in the region besides producing ethylene, sulphur and other petrochemical products.
