Doha, Qatar – 15 January 2015: As a responsible corporate citizen, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) Q.S.C., one of the leading petrochemical powerhouses in the region and a pioneer in petrochemical production, aims to further engage and contribute to the development of the State of Qatar, through initiatives and community outreach programs that truly make a difference to society.
QAPCO is proud to have recently sponsored an award ceremony appreciating some of the hardest working students of the institution Dhreima, hence rewarding talent to encourage the youth to excel in their studies. 30 outstanding students were recognized for their brilliant performance at school and were awarded with special prizes. The ceremony revolved around how achievements at school can pave the way to a bright future, underlining that education is the key to shape a future filled with limitless opportunities. Dhreima counts highly motivated and enthusiastic students that are top achievers at school and fully dedicated to their studies.
Mr. Khaled Kamal, Director of Dhreima, thanked QAPCO for its support to Dhreima and for having organized this remarkable and special ceremony aimed at inspiring and encouraging the children to pursue their studies with dedication and commitment.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohammed Yousef Al Mulla, Managing Director and CEO of QAPCO expressed its utmost support to Dhreima by mentioning: “At QAPCO, we draw strength from the alignment of our strategy with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Every day, our focus is on ensuring we participate in translating the vision into a reality.We believe that contributing to Qatari society and serving our beloved country is part of our license to operate. The actions and values promoted by Dhreima are exemplary and an inspiration to many”.
The appreciation of the top performing students during the ceremony aimed at highlighting the importance of education.
During the ceremony, Mr. Khaled Kamal stated, “At Dhreima, education holds a central place. Furthermore, we encourage our students to study scientific disciplines, as we believe in the strong benefits and many possibilities offered by a science-oriented curriculum for students. At Dhreima, our aim is to support our students’ enthusiastic quest for learning and development and to encourage them to pursue their higher education, in Qatar or abroad. As such, some of our students are enrolled at Qatar University, undergrads at Hamad in Khalifa University at Education City, others are studying in universities in the Arab world, but some are also pursing their academic studies in universities in the United State and Great Britain. We are immensely proud of their success. “
Mr. Khaled Kamal continued, “One of Dhreima’s objectives is for the students to effectively integrate the labor market; and we do so by providing relevant training, original workshops and by offering hands-on professional experience aimed at developing leadership and general life skills amongst out students. We strive to ensure the students of Dhreima are well equipped with the knowledge and capabilities to participate in achieving the ambitions of the Qatar National Vision 2030”.
Dr. Al Mulla congratulated all the awardees for their good grades at schools and stressed, “Education is the key to empowering the youth. With education, you will develop strategic skills and competencies and have access to rewarding jobs in companies. With education, you will be able to achieve your dreams”.
Dr. Al Mulla praised the role of Dhreima for their valuable contribution and activities, aimed at building a better, more united society.
Mr. Khaled Kamal concluded by thanking QAPCO and by saying, “We look forward to our future collaboration with QAPCO, especially for upcoming activities dedicated to our students”.
