QAPCO Relaunches Tamkeen Apprenticeship Program

Doha, Qatar – A special virtual event was recently organized by our Strategic Qatarization Department to relaunch the Company’s Apprenticeship program as the Tamkeen Apprenticeship Program and to give our Educational partners an opportunity to learn more about the program.

Invited guests from the Education Sector included Dr. Cesar Malave, the Dean of Texas A&M University, Dr Salam Al Naemi, Acting President of CNAQ, Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji, Dean of the College of Engineering at Qatar University and Dr. Hassan Bazzi the Associate Dean of Texas A&M University.

From QAPCO Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Al Mulla MD & CEO, Dr. Yousef Abdulla Reebeh Chief Engineering Officer, Eng. Abdulla Ahmad Naji Chief Human Capital and Information Systems Officer and Eng, Ahmad Mohammed Jamali Technical Group Manager were in attendance.

Also in attendance were twenty Engineering graduates from Qatar University and Texas A&M University Qatar who have recently started the program. The online event delivered via Microsoft Teams application was hosted by Mr. Abdulrahman Sultan Al Darwish, Strategic Qatarization Manager who informed the audience of the history of the program as well as outlined the current structure and curriculum of the new Tamkeen Apprenticeship Program.

Mr. Al Darwish was joined by Eng. Mahmoud Abdel-Rahman Gazar from the Ethylene Plant who gave a demonstration of a virtual training session and Miss Nada Moawia Babiker from our Process Department who spoke about her experiences of completing her Apprenticeship program and joining QAPCO as an employee.

To conclude the event our guests from the Education Sector spoke to the current group of Apprentices offering their words of motivation and encouragement.
