Doha, Qatar – A lecture was held at Qatar University by the QAPCO Student Engineering Club that enabled around 140 Engineering students from Qatar University, Texas A&M University – Qatar, the College of North Atlantic Qatar and Community College Qatar to learn more about the Polymer Industry in Qatar.

The lecture was delivered by Dr Mabrouk Ouederni, QAPCO’s Product Development & Innovation Manager, and focused on the Polymer Industry in Qatar. Presenting in an inspiring way a great topic about polymers, production and their application in industry and everyday life. Dr Mabrouk also pointed out some challenges for future generations of engineers related to polymer production, renewable energy, bio-gradable polymers, and clean water.

All of this was a strong motivating factor for all engineering students to realize that the world will need their knowledge and skills. Students also appreciated his input about technical skills students need to have to enter the engineering profession.
The QAPCO Student Engineering Club was launched in 2017 in order to provide a specialized forum for engineering students that will enable the promotion of all matters relating to Engineering and has through a series of special events such as this lecture, build a community within the Education Sector in Qatar, that will bridge science and technology issues, further engaging Qatari and expatriate engineering students.

Membership of the Student Engineering Club is comprised of students as well as academic and faculty staff from our partner Universities and Colleges: as well QAPCO employees and Developees and will enable networking with Engineering students from other Universities and Colleges, professors and professionals from QAPCO as well as facilitating research projects and conducting valuable experiments.
