Doha, Qatar – For the seventh year in a row, QAPCO organized the regional Waste Free Environment (WFE) campaign in collaboration with Muntajat and Q-Chem.
WFE is an environmental awareness and anti-litter campaign launched by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA).
The local community, downstream industries, schools and universities in Qatar also united on Wakra Beach for the WFE clean-up campaign. The annual campaign aims to tackle some of the challenges associated with plastic litter under the theme “be part of the change”.
The campaign started with several awareness sessions at schools, colleges and universities. More than 15 schools were visited by our ambassadors to deliver awareness-raising presentations aimed to introduce the importance of protecting
the environment and how to preserve it. For the second year in a row we had the STEM Road Show on the beach enriching and educating students about the importance of recycling and how plastic is “in just about everything”.
